Paul Hollywood is the only member of the original Great British Bake Off cast still standing, and has been a judge since the show launched in 2010. The celebrity baker made headlines when it was announced he would be the only star to make the move over to Channel 4.
Fellow judge Mary Berry and Presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins all decided to stay with the BBC after Love Productions sold the Bake Off format to Channel 4 for £75million.
Paul was accused of selling out and fans branded him a ‘traitor’ when he chose to stay with the programme following the controversial channel switch.
But Channel 4’s version of Bake Off seems to have grown on viewers.
So here’s everything you need to know about Paul, his partner, wife and why he deleted his Twitter account.
Who is Paul Hollywood and what is his net worth?
Paul grew up in Wallasey, Merseyside, and was a master baker long before he rose to fame after Bake Off took off eight years ago.
Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather Paul learnt to earn his crust through baking bread.
Having made his name as a well known celebrity baker and chef, Paul now has his own bread baking company and in 2013 presented the BBC Two series Paul Hollywood ‘s Bread.
He has also written several successful baking books including 100 Great Breads which was named the Top Bread and Pastry Book in 2005 by the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
He was the only member of the BBC hosting team who carried on with the show when it jumped to Channel 4 in a megabucks deal in 2016.
Speaking of his new cast mates, Paul said last year: "We go out every night when we're here.
“Within a week, it felt like I'd known Prue for a long, long time."
Paul is worth a whopping £10million , and has raked in a cool £1million from his company Paul Hollywood Limited.
The baker has almost £8.8million of assets in his new company HJP Media LLP, according to The Sun.
He’s also reported to earn £400,000 a year presenting Bake Off for Channel 4.
Who is Paul Hollywood’s wife and who are his children?
Paul married wife and fellow cook Alexandra in 1998, within weeks of meeting her in Cyprus where he was working as a head baker.
They have one child together, a son called Josh.
The pair briefly split in 2013 when Paul began a relationship with Marcela Valladolid, but they got back together a year later.
They announced in 2017 that they were separating again.
The couple said in a statement: “It is with sadness that we have decided to separate. Our focus continues to be the happiness of our son, and we would ask the press and public to allow us privacy as a family during this very difficult time.”
Did Paul Hollywood have an affair and who is his girlfriend?
Hollywood briefly broke up with his wife in 2013, after he began a relationship with Marcela Valladolid – his co-host on the American version of Bake Off.
Paul confessed to the Mirror that it was all his fault his marriage was ending . He said: “It’s my fault. I am very sad about what has happened. I do feel very sad about it and what it brought on the family.”
After The American Baking Competition was axed due to poor ratings, Hollywood returned to the UK and reconciled with his wife.
Shortly after Hollywood split from his wife for the second time in 2017, he began dating 22-year-old barmaid Summer Monteys-Fullam.
He became friends with Summer when she worked at his local, the Duke William in Ickham, Kent.
Hollywood also made the headlines in November 2017 when he was snapped apparently kissing 2016 Bake Off winner Candice Brown after the Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards.
But Candice – who is engaged to long-term boyfriend Liam Macaulay – laughed off rumours that there was anything serious in the friendly peck on the cheek.
She tweeted: “No kisses or hugs hello or goodbye from now on – handshakes or waves only!”
Why did Paul Hollywood delete his Twitter?
Hollywood deleted his @PaulHollywood Twitter account in January 2018 after being accused of buying thousands of fake followers.
He had 683,000 followers on the social media site, but an investigation by the New York Times found his name in a probe into stars' use of a firm that sells followers.
A spokesman for Hollywood said: "Paul deleted his personal account last week when he was alerted to the fake followers.
"The large percentage of his 650,000 followers – built up over eight years – were legitimate but, like lots of high profile people, he followed advice at the time to build up his social media presence without realising what it involved."
He later launched a new Twitter account, @JudgeBakeOff, which has since amassed 19,000 followers.
The @PaulHollywood account has since been re-activated, with a handful of replies to fans and a picture promoting the new series of Bake Off.
