How to Properly Add Google AdSense to Your WordPress Site

March 5, 2020 by Leave a Comment

Google AdSense is one of the most popular ways to monetize your website. It allows you to automatically sell your website’s ad space to advertisers and get paid. AdSense is one of the easiest way to start making money online with your website. In this article, we will show you how to add Google AdSense in WordPress along with some best practices and tips to increase your earnings. What is Google AdSense? Google AdSense is an advertising network run by Google that allows bloggers and website owners an opportunity to earn money by showing text, image, video, and other interactive advertisement on their websites. These ads are targeted by site content and audience, so they’re highly relevant. Google AdSense is hassle-free because you don’t have to deal with advertisers or worry about collecting money. Google administers and maintains relationships with advertisers. They collect the payment, take their management fee, and send the rest of the money to you. Global WordPress Translation Day 3

September 27, 2017 by Leave a Comment

On September 30 2017, the WordPress Polyglots Team – whose mission is to translate WordPress into as many languages as possible – will hold its third Global WordPress Translation Day , a 24-hour, round-the-clock, digital and physical global marathon dedicated to the localisation and internationalisation of the WordPress platform and ecosystem, a structure that powers, today, over 28% of all existing websites. The localisation process allows for WordPress and for all WordPress-related products (themes and plugins) to be available in local languages, so to improve their accessibility and usage and to allow as many people as possible to take advantage of the free platform and services available. In a (not completely) serendipitous coincidence, September 30 has also been declared by the United Nations “International Translation Day”, to pay homage to the great services of translators everywhere, one that allows communication and exchange. The event will feature a series of … [Read more...] about Global WordPress Translation Day 3

Taking WordPress to War

November 11, 2011 by Leave a Comment

Today is the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the (20)eleventh year, and in several parts of the world, it is a holiday related to war. In the U.S., where I live, it is Veterans Day, which honors military veterans. In much of Europe, today is Armistice Day or Remembrance Day, commemorating the armistice signed at the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” of 1918 that ended the fighting on the Western Front in World War I. Whether serving in the military, living in an area of unrest or attack, having friends or family in the fray, or just being human enough to think war sucks (there’s really no gentler way to say that, is there?), war impacts most people in the world today. The mission of WordPress is to democratize publishing. Sometimes we’re fortunate enough for that to mean providing a platform for communication that helps people work toward peace in their communities and around the world. Sometimes it means providing a platform for keeping people … [Read more...] about Taking WordPress to War

The Results of Project Icon

November 17, 2008 by Leave a Comment

The community has voted, and the votes have been tallied. The winner of Project Icon, with 35% of the votes, is Entry ID “BD,” otherwise known as Ben Dunkle. Congratulations, Ben! The runner-up was VS, otherwise known as Verena Segert, so we’ll be attaching that set to the alternate color palette that is selectable from the profile screen. As we prepare for RC1, Ben and Verena will be revising a couple of their icons so that both sets will use the same metaphors, creating the colored “on” states, and creating the larger size of each icon for use in the h2 screen headers. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to select from so many great options, and would like to express again our appreciation for all the designers who participated in the contest. Thanks also to the more than 3700 people who completed the voting survey and took the time to weigh on on the individual icon sets. Q.18 Which one of the sets do you think we should use as a basis for the 2.7 icons? … [Read more...] about The Results of Project Icon

WordCamp Columbus 2012 (Recap, Thoughts, and Pictures)

July 18, 2012 by Leave a Comment

This past weekend I, Syed, had a pleasure of attending and speaking at WordCamp Columbus. This was my second year at WordCamp Columbus, and I can’t wait to go back again next year because I think I really made the most out of this WordCamp . I will talk about my experience, things I learnt, and people I met. WordCamp Columbus 2012 was a huge improvement compared to last year’s event (not saying that last year’s was bad or anything). I think this year, they did a phenomenal job. First of all, the new venue (Ohio State Union), is a perfect location. It has the room for everyone, and this new venue also allows the camp to grow even further. My favorite aspect of this camp was how they dealt with food. Most WordCamps organize catering which limits people’s choices. Also, in the past, I have had experience where vegetarian meals ran out. This happens because people change their mind on spot without realizing that organizers only order a set number of vegetarian meals. Anyways, the … [Read more...] about WordCamp Columbus 2012 (Recap, Thoughts, and Pictures)
